Screw Design Technology

At the heart of every successful extruder must be the correct screw design. Boston Matthews has over 50 years screw design and manufacturing experience which includes many "firsts”. Further supported by 3D Design Software and Polymer Processing Flow Simulation Boston Matthews extruders are fitted with the exact screw(s) to process your polymers within the right conditions for the highest quality at all times.

Energy Efficient Technology

All Boston Matthews extruders feature AC and Direct-Drive Technology. This ensures maximum power transmission and eliminates the need for belts & pulleys (a wear item). This also reduces operational noise and dust levels as well as reducing energy consumption.

Total Control

Extruders are available with traditional hard wired control or the optional SMART PLC control system. The colour touch-screen control offers many additional features including Receipe Storage; Password Protection and Security Levels; Product Traceability & Data Export; Ethernet Connectivity; Alarm History and much more.

Line Integration

Boston Matthews single screw extruders can be configured to integrate with any existing extrusion line.

Fluorocarbon & High Temperature Extruders (Including PEEK)

Boston Matthews has extensive experience of the processing of Fluorocarbons and High Temperature Polymers such as PEEK.

When processing such polymers which require either very high temperatures or can emit corrosive gasses, specialist extrusion machinery is required. Boston Matthews has designed a range of extruders specifically for the processing of these polymers and incorporate such features to ensure high quality processing and output as well as machine longevity and operator safety.
